Farizon serves up 20 SV large vans for MCFT in first fleet deal
Farizon is celebrating a recent fleet deal after McFarlane Telfer (MCFT), global specialists in maintenance and supply of commercial kitchen equipment, placed an order for 20 new Farizon SV large vans to support its team of nationwide Service Engineers.
During an extensive competitive assessment process, MCFT trialled the Farizon SV against three fully-electric competitors, all of which were from established brands. Several MCFT engineers at four locations trialled the vans for a full month, with particular attention being paid to load space, versatility, range and ease-of-use. The Farizon SV was judged to best suit the needs of the team, scoring higher than its rivals across a range of factors in a comprehensive assessment process.
Supplied by Heathrow Van Centre, MCFT chose the SV L1H1 83 kWh as the ideal model in Farizon’s growing all-electric line-up that would best meet its requirements. Each van will be fitted with bespoke racking supplied and fitted by Van Racking Solutions and will be used by the company’s Catering and Refrigeration Engineers to attend maintenance and repair visits, along with new equipment deliveries to commercial kitchens nationwide.
The Farizon SV L1H1 offers 6.95 m3 of load space, a maximum payload of 1,265 kg, and an ultra-low loading height of just 550 mm. Combined with the 83 kWh battery option, the L1H1 delivers a range of up to 234 miles (WLTP Combined), while a 20-80 per cent charge takes from just 36 minutes.
David Meacock, Group Director of Engineering at MCFT, said: “As a global business, MCFT always looks at how we can support our customers in the most sustainable way. As the market begins to transition to eLCVs, our new fleet of all-electric Farizon SV vans will not only enhance the efficiency and reliability of our service operations, but also reflect our commitment to equipping our engineers with the best tools for the job.”
George Smith, Fleet Manager at MCFT, added: “Our engineers can drive up to 25,000 miles a year, so a highly competitive range was an essential ingredient in ensuring our operations wouldn’t be affected by switching to an electric fleet. Factor in the cost savings we’ll be able to make, the SV’s impressive payload and high spec levels, and it’s clear this is the right solution for us.”
Mark West, Owner of Heathrow Van Centre, said: “It’s great to be working with MCFT, from understanding their requirements to supplying them with a fleet of vans that I’m sure will exceed their expectations. As they transition their fleet from diesel to electric vans, the Farizon SV is the ideal solution, built for business and ready to serve.”
Calum James, General Manager of Farizon Auto UK, concluded by saying: “With an impressive electric powertrain, high levels of space and utility, and very generous kit levels as standard, it’s great to see businesses like MCFT choose the Farizon SV for their operations. We’re in the latter stages of closing several more deals like this, reflecting the rapidly growing interest we’re seeing from fleets as they look to reduce costs, operate with greater sustainability credentials, and benefit from improved capability. On all fronts, the SV delivers.”
