Jameel Motors appoints UK managing director

  • Tom Carney joins Jameel Motors Farizon Auto to head UK operations
  • UK team grows in preparation for first customer deliveries in Q2

London, United Kingdom; 13 January 2025: Jameel Motors has appointed Tom Carney as Managing Director, Jameel Motors Farizon Auto. Carney was most recently Commercial and Retail Operations Director at Inchcape and takes up his new role with immediate effect.

Carney brings over 30 years of experience in commercial and retail operations within the automotive sector, leading teams across sales, service and support functions. In particular, Carney has a proven ability to develop successful operations, enhance customer service and drive continuous improvement. His experience stretches across multiple brands including BMW, MINI, Audi, JLR and Porsche.

Throughout a decade of Carney’s tenure, Inchcape was recognised with multiple awards including Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year, BMW Sales Retailer of the Year, MINI Retailer of the Year and BEV Retailer of the Year. At Jameel Motors Farizon Auto his focus will be on developing a world-class operation and building on a culture of customer-centric excellence that is the hallmark of Jameel Motors’ global operations.

Carney said of his appointment: “After years of strengthening and developing the UK presence of some of the world’s most established brands, it’s an exciting challenge to lead the introduction of a new brand and a fantastic new product.

This appointment by Jameel Motors is part of a long-term strategy to build a strong team for the UK ahead of the start of sales of the Farizon SV, a large born-electric panel van. The Farizon SV was designed for Europe and was recently awarded the highest ‘Platinum’ safety rating from Euro NCAP. UK sales start in Q1 2025, with first deliveries slated for Q2.

Carney will work alongside Andy Carroll, who has led the first phase of setting up Jameel Motors Farizon Auto in the UK. Carroll will move into an advisory role with Jameel Motors in the UK to support the Farizon activities as well as other projects.
